From the Georgia Genealocial Society: Join The Georgia Genealogical Society, next month, THURSDAY, JULY 10th, at 8PM, for another FREE Educational Series Webinar. We'll be exploring an intriguing theme, "PRESERVING BURIAL GROUNDS: METHODS IN DOCUMENTING AND MAPPING CEMETERIES," with LaDonna Garner, a notable cemetery preservationist, historical researcher, and genealogist. Our guest speaker will illuminate how cemetery surveying, —when done with care and purpose, becomes a powerful act of historical preservation. This will be a special presentation that’s sure to shift the way you see burial grounds.
Learn the hands-on techniques and proven methods to document neglected or endangered cemeteries, create lasting records, and map out forgotten sacred spaces before they disappear. Even if you’ve never conducted a survey before, you’ll leave this session with the tools, mindset, and motivation to ensure these silent sites speak for generations to come.
